Gluten Free Reviews... From France

So far, I've tried a few gluten free items from france and mostly, they're mediocre. I do like that they have almond milk here though!

Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate having pasta and bread that I can eat, but I've had better GF of both. The bread is dense and pretty dry. The loaf was pretty small and the taste is ... dry too. Hard to describe. There were several different flavors from this same brand. I chose the cheapest, so maybe I got what I paid for though.

The pasta is... not so good. It suggests to boil it for 5-7 minutes and the first time I cooked it 5 minutes. WAY too long. It was essentially mush when I drained it. The second time I made it I just threw it into some soup I was making. I think it might have simmered for 5 mintues max. It was a bit more al dente that time but it was still pretty mushy. I'm going to try to make it again and boil it about 3 minutes. If that doesn't taste good then I'm going to give up on it. It wasn't THAT expensive...

This is the soup (7 legumes!) that I made better with some fresh spinach and the noodles.

The beer was a Blonde from Germany. It tasted like regular beer and my roommate attested to that. I just don't think I like blonde or light beers because the last 2 I've had I haven't liked and they were pale ales and blonde. I really like the Dark Brown Ale from Greens. I'm hoping I find one of those at some point while we're traveling!

The almond milk is getting an A+ however. I really like it. I don't have much else to say. Its good!
