I did a lot of contemplating about some witty, creative, insightful post for my first time posting from Oxford. I failed at coming up with anything worth posting, but I did decided that eventually I want to do an "Ode to Oxford." It might be a problem that I don't know how to do a proper ode, but meh. I don't do a lot the conventional way.
So to explain my lack of facebook, skype, emails and the like I'm going to blame the sorry excuse for internet that we have here in our dorms. Its spotty and I for some reason still cannot log onto the site. I don't get signal in my room and have to travel down to tower 4 (I'm living in 2) to get any semblance of a signal but then I can't log on. This limits me to checking everything in one fell-swoop when I hit the library. (Which, if you're into that kind of thing is really freakin sweet. Since its creation over 600 years ago, there have been an agreement with something akin to the london printing society that the library will house at least one copy of every book ever printed in English. The head of admissions said that they get about 2-4,000 books in every week. There are libraries all over oxford that are technically the "Boudlien" and are separated by subject. I go to the Natural Sciences library which is connected to the 2 natural history museums.)
I have thoroughly embraced the tradition of going to the pubs every night and I'm lucky that ciders are very popular here. I can get a 1/2 pint of cider from the tap as well as choose from a large variety of bottled ones.
